Countries for visa free regime of entry to Russia

The Government of the Russian Federation allows citizens of specific countries/territories to visit Russia for tourism or business purposes without having to obtain a visa, often based on bilateral agreements. Citizens of other countries have to obtain a visa from the embassy of their residence country.
Visa policy of Russia
Citizens and holders of passports issued by the following countries are not required to obtain a visa prior to travel to Russia
For unlimited period without Russian visa: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
Up to 90 days in each 180 day period without Russian visa: Abkhazia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Israel, Macedonia, Nicaragua, Peru, South Ossetia, Uruguay, Venezuela.
Up to 30 days without Russian visa: Cuba, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macau, Montenegro, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey.
Up to 14 days without Russian visa: Hong Kong.

Russian visa

Visa is a document issued on the basis of an invitation to enter the Russian Federation. It determines how long a foreign citizen can stay in Russia. Russia requires you to get an official visa support or "invitation" before you can apply for the visa to the Consulate. This invitation may be is an official document from a travel agency, registered with the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs or invitation from WRC organizers, issued by a Russian Federal Migration Service agency, or written invitation from WRC organizers.

There are several types of ordinary visas in Russia
  • private
  • business
  • tourist, including group
  • study
  • work
  • humanitarian
  • asylum

To obtain a visa a foreign citizen must apply to the Russian consulate at the place of residence.

Russian consular authorities draw up a visa, depending on the purpose of travel and length of stay of a foreigner in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Regardless of the category of visa applicant must submit to the Russian consulate of the following documents:

1) Passport.
2) A completed visa application form
3) Your photo
4) The fee for a visa
5) Visa invitation
6) Other documents

You can address a travel agency to obtain a visa to Russia.
 
Upon request the WRC2013 Organizing Committee will send official invitations to WRC2013 participants that have confirmed their entries to obtain visas to Russia.
